Since the French Revolution, it has been the final resting place of a select group of individuals who have served France in exceptional ways (Mirabeau, Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Zola, La Fayette&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcparis.com\/climbing-the-rue-de-la-montagne-sainte-genevieve-up-to-saint-etienne-du-mont\/budget-hotels-cheap-flights\/\"><strong>The St.-Etienne du Mont Church<\/strong><\/a>: Contains the shrine of St. Genevi\u00e8ve, the patron saint of Paris and stained glass of the 17th century.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rue Mouffetard<\/strong>: One of Paris&rsquo;s oldest, many restaurants, shops, and caf\u00e9s, and a regular open market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luxembourg Gardens and Palace<\/strong>: Owned by the French Senate. Paris&rsquo; favorite place to sun and picnic.
