Located in the 1st arrondissement, the Palais Royal was originally, residence of Cardinal Richelieu, then, of Louis XIII, Anne of Austria, Cardinal Mazarin and the Orléans. Today, houses the Conseil d’État, the Constitutional Council, and the Ministry of Culture.

The Palais Bourbon, a palace located on the left bank of the Seine, across from the Place de la Concorde, is the seat of the French National Assembly, the lower legislative chamber of the French government. The palace was originally built (1722-1728) for the legitimised daughter of Louis XIV and Françoise-Athénaïs, marquise de Montespan – Louise-Françoise de Bourbon. During the French Revolution the Palais Bourbon was nationalized.

The Pantheon is  a mausoleum for prominent Frenchmen (Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Émile Zola, Marie Curie, Jean Monnet…). It is located in the Latin Quarter, 5th arrondissement, on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, near the Jardin du Luxembourg. Modeled on the Pantheon in Rome and commissioned by King Louis XV in 1744.

Stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (Place de l’Étoile). Located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, 8th arrondissement. Built in 1806 after the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon. Beneath the Arc is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the First World War.

The Eiffel Tower, named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel,  located on the Champ de Mars in Paris was built as the entrance arch for the 1889 World’s Fair. The tower stands at 324 m (1,063 ft) tall, it was the tallest structure in the world from its completion until 1930, when it was eclipsed by the Chrysler Building in New York City. The tower has three levels for visitors. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants.

The station was given its current name in 1989, soon after the opening of the new entrance to the Louvre Museum. It is named after the nearby Palais Royal and the Louvre. The entrance on Place Colette was redesigned by Jean-Michel Othoniel. In 2000, a century after Hector Guimard, he  transformed the Palais Royal-Musée du Louvre into the Kiosque des Noctambules: two crowns made of glass and aluminum conceal a bench designed for chance encounters in the sleepy city.

Tour Maine-Montparnasse (Maine-Montparnasse Tower), also commonly named Tour Montparnasse, is a 210-metre (689 ft) tall office skyscraper located in Paris, 14th arrondissement. Built on top of the Montparnasse – Bienvenüe Paris Métro station, the 59 floors of the tower are mainly occupied by offices. The 56th floor, with a restaurant, and the terrace on the top floor, are open to the public for viewing the city.

Les Invalides,  in the city’s 7th arrondissement containing museums and monuments, all relating to the military history of France, as well as a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans, the building’s original purpose. The buildings house the Musée de l’Armée, the military museum of the Army of France, the Musée des Plans-Reliefs, and the Musée d’Histoire Contemporaine, as well as the burial site for some of France’s war heroes, notably Napoleon Bonaparte.
